Carle Foundation Hospital Selects LYNX Medical Systems for Documentation and Revenue Management Solutions

LYNX healthcare information technology instrumental in Emergency Department efficiency

April 16, 2004—Bellevue, WA—Carle Foundation Hospital has partnered with LYNX Medical Systems to increase the efficiency of their ED patient tracking and clinical documentation. Carle Foundation Hospital will implement the LYNX E/Map software solution into their ED located in Urbana, Illinois. The agreement between Carle and LYNX was signed the first quarter of 2004.

LYNX E/Map patient tracking software will enhance the patient tracking and documentation processes in the Carle emergency department. E/Map documents each encounter to provide a revenue stream that is designed to match patient acuity. The E/Map software solution will provide the Carle Foundation Hospital with dynamic problem specific, age- and gender-appropriate patient forms that are generated from a clinical knowledge database. Forms are bar coded to ease documentation management. The E/Map templates will assist the provider in documenting care and later, aid in supporting appropriate assignment of codes that accurately reflect services provided. This solution will help the Carle Foundation streamline their patient care and communication processes and incorporate all physician and facility documentation into a single patient record.
