LYNX M/View Web-based medical record access tool offers secure, Web-based, HIPAA compliant record sharing

August 11, 2004—Bellevue, WA—LYNX Medical Systems today announced that their M/View health information management (HIM) software tool has undergone a variety of functionality enhancements. M/View online remote record access software tool now offers secure (SSL), remote Internet-based medical record access via a standard Web browser. By deploying M/View through the Internet, 24/7 record access is available, eliminating end-user software installation. Software updates are automatic upon login and virtually seamless to the user.

LYNX M/View provides secure online access to patient records, including scanned images, transcript files and/or text-based files, immediately upon being entered into the system. With patient consent, M/View electronically links a specific patient record with one or more physicians during the patient registration or discharge process. M/View’s electronically guarded record authorization provides the healthcare provider access to the record for follow-up care. Providers simply login to M/View and filter the patient log to locate a desired record or set of records. Permission to access a record is available only to pre-authorized users. Once a record is viewed, M/View automatically creates audit trail, recording who and when the record was accessed. M/View’s audit trail, user identification and password ensures HIPAA compliance.
