LYNX Medical Systems Appoints Gene Cattarina as Chief Executive Officer
Cattarina’s expertise reaffirms LYNX vision for long-term growth
May 8, 2006 —Bellevue, WA—LYNX Medical Systems (LYNX), a leading provider of integrated healthcare documentation and revenue management solutions, today announced that Gene Cattarina has joined the company as president and chief executive officer (CEO). In this role, Cattarina will be responsible for managing the corporate operations and strategic growth of LYNX Medical Systems, Inc.
Cattarina, who has held comparable positions at Landacorp, Medicode and TDS Healthcare Systems, brings more than 25 years of experience in healthcare information technology. He assumed responsibility from John Trzeciak on April 17, 2006 who served as interim-CEO following the acquisition of LYNX by Francisco Partners in late 2005. Trzeciak will continue to serve on the LYNX board of directors and as a healthcare advisor to Francisco Partners.

Gene Cattarina comes to LYNX from E&C Medical Intelligence (NY), an industry-leading provider of automated OB clinical decision support and documentation systems, where he held the position of executive chairman of the board. Cattarina also served as an advisor for Galen Partners (NY) and Trident Capital (CA), two large private equity firms focused on healthcare. He spent six years with Landacorp, Inc., an Atlanta-based medical software and disease management solutions provider. After leading Landacorp’s initial public offering as president and CEO, Cattarina was named chairman in 2003. Landacorp was later acquired by SHPS, Inc. in 2004. Prior to Landacorp, Cattarina served as president and CEO of Medicode, Inc., a Utah-based healthcare information and coding management solutions firm, which was acquired by United Healthcare Corporation in 1997. From 1986 to 1995, Cattarina served in a number of leadership positions with TDS Healthcare Systems Corporation (GA), including president and chief operating officer. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Brooklyn College, NY.
