Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Chooses LYNX Medical Systems’ Documentation and Revenue Management Software Suite
Not-for-profit hospital and trauma center enhances patient care while streamlining Emergency Department processes with LYNX
May 26, 2006 —Bellevue, WA—LYNX Medical Systems (LYNX) today announced that an agreement had been reached with Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital (Henry Mayo ) for LYNX Emergency Department (ED) documentation and revenue management software. LYNX will implement their ED software suite, including LYNX coding review services at this Santa Clarita Valley, California community hospital and trauma center. The contract was signed in the second quarter of 2006.
“We are very excited about the implementation of LYNX,” stated Cindy Peterson, chief information officer at Henry Mayo. “We feel that not only will we enhance our revenue, but with this implementation we will gain efficiencies in our workflow and have patient information readily available for nurses and physicians.”
LYNX E/Map clinical documentation and tracking tool will enable Henry Mayo to automate ED patient records while enhancing patient care. At the point of care, physicians will have access to problem-, age- and gender-specific templates, created from a dynamic clinical knowledge database. Physicians will have immediate access to previous patient ED records to assist in patient care. E/Map will help Henry Mayo accurately record each patient encounter while streamlining the workflow in the ED for more than 40,000 annual ED visits.
Henry Mayo clinicians will have secure Internet access to electronic patient records via LYNX M/View Web-based remote record viewing tool. Access to electronic patient records offers Henry Mayo immediate, real-time patient information while securing long-term cost-efficiencies by eliminating the time delays and expense of obtaining and distributing paper records.
LYNX E/Code ICD-9 and CPT coding software will assist Henry Mayo in accurately aligning patient acuity and resources used in the ED. Hospital management can also access financial and clinical data to better manage ED operations and patient care.
LYNX coding review services will offer Henry Mayo ongoing medical coder education, monthly coding audits and updates regarding industry changes, coding policy revisions and other pertinent information related to coding for emergency medicine. LYNX Quality Management team will help this not-for-profit community hospital optimize coding accuracy for maximum efficiency and compliance.
“We are pleased to be partnering with this dedicated healthcare organization,” said Mike DeTolla, president of LYNX Medical Systems Software. “Both Henry Mayo and LYNX share the same vision of improving health care through excellence. Their values resonate through this collaboration with LYNX to further enhance the quality of patient care in the Santa Clarita Valley.”
