American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Appoints LYNX Medical Systems’ Dr. Jeffery Wajda to National Advisory Committee
Wajda assigned to subcommittee of ACEP Coding and Nomenclature Advisory Committee (CNAC)
August 8, 2006—Bellevue, WA—LYNX Medical Systems (LYNX), a leading provider of emergency medicine documentation and revenue management solutions, today announced that Jeffery Wajda, DO, MS, FACEP has been appointed to the national American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Coding and Nomenclature Advisory Committee (CNAC). Dr. Wajda currently serves LYNX in the role of vice president of Clinical Support Services, responsible for clinical software and coding services product development and as a liaison with the international healthcare community.
Dr. Wajda has been assigned to a subcommittee of the CNAC, which advocates nationally for emergency medicine issues through the AMA CPT process, Medicare Carrier Advisory network and through CMS development of facility and physician documentation guidelines. A subcommittee member interfaces with Medicare officials and provides expert information regarding Medicare policy affecting Emergency Departments and reports directly to the AMA RVU Update Committee (RUC) and to the CMS Coding and Reimbursement Advisory Committee.
Dr. Wajda is a board certified emergency physician whose experience includes positions as Emergency Department medical director and chairman of the Credentials Committee at Providence Everett Medical Center. He has acquired more than 18 years of emergency medical clinical experience and over 9 years of group/hospital management experience. Dr. Wajda also has extensive experience in compliance, billing and operational consulting. His exposure to medicine first occurred while completing his Master’s degree in Bio-Organic Chemistry at the University of Michigan. During this same period, Dr. Wajda was involved in oncology research, supported by a National Institute of Health (NIH) grant fellowship. After medical school, Dr. Wajda completed Emergency Medicine Residency training at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and a member of the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE).
