Harborview Medical Center Chooses LYNX Medical Systems Emergency Department Coding Solution

LYNX to provide outpatient coding solution to leading Northwest Medical Center and Clinics

December 19, 2006—Bellevue, WA—LYNX Medical Systems today announced that an agreement had been reached with Harborview Medical Center (HMC) to implement an outpatient coding solution for Harborview Medical Center’s Emergency Department and up to 33 of their clinics.

The LYNX outpatient coding solution will assist HMC in streamlining workflow efficiencies and will provide hospital management access to financial and clinical data to better manage operations and patient care. The LYNX outpatient coding solution will further enhance HMC compliance using available documentation to ensure consistency of code assignment across the system. LYNX outpatient code assignment is performed in accordance with current Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) documentation guidelines, CPT policy (published by the American Medical Association), American College of Emergency Physicians, Correct Coding Initiative (published by CMS) and LYNX stringent coding guidelines.
