Chilton Medical Center Chooses LYNX Medical Systems Emergency Department Outpatient Charging Solution
LYNX E/Point software will streamline facility charging for SunLink Health Systems’ member hospital
December 21, 2006—Bellevue, WA—LYNX Medical Systems (LYNX), the leading provider of emergency medicine documentation and revenue management solutions, today announced that an agreement had been reached with Chilton Medical Center (Chilton) to implement LYNX E/Point Online facility charging solution.
“E/Point Online will be a valuable tool in our continuing efforts to streamline efficiencies in our Emergency Department,” said Wendell Wilkes, chief financial officer at Chilton. “The LYNX software will provide measurable results in optimizing our ED workflow and E/M charging process.”
E/Point Online is a standalone browser-based outpatient facility charging application that will allow Chilton’s ED staff to record work performed during patient care for ED visits. The software automatically calculates the visit level for consistent, compliant and complete E/M charge assignment then extracts charges to the hospital billing or financial system. The hospital can also access financial and clinical data to better manage ED operations and enhance patient care.
Chilton Medical Center is one of seven community hospitals operated in four states by SunLink Health Systems, Inc. (SunLink) and the fourth hospital within the health system to implement LYNX E/Point Online. Each SunLink hospital is the sole acute general healthcare provider in its community. Chilton Medical Center, operating in Clanton, Alabama, is a JCAHO accredited, licensed 60-bed hospital.
