Alegent Health System Chooses Picis LYNX Outpatient Facility Coding Services
LYNX slated to support five facilities and 120,000 annual outpatient visits
October 14, 2008—Bellevue, WA—LYNX Medical Systems, a Picis company, today announced an agreement with Alegent Health to provide outpatient facility coding services to its five Omaha metropolitan area hospitals.
With more than 120,000 emergency department (ED) visits annually, Alegent Health searched for a way to standardize coding between metro area hospitals. It needed a solution that could handle high-volume coding demands while promoting both record compliance and consistency. With more than 20 years’ ED coding experience, LYNX facility coding services brings to Alegent Health the industry standard for objective, consistent and compliant outsourced ED facility coding.
“LYNX coding services will help us to better align our resource use with acuity in our emergency departments system-wide,” said Rose Borghoff, HIM director, Alegent Health. “With LYNX Medical Systems handling our ED facility coding, we anticipate increased compliance and record accuracy with our emergency department facility coding. We also hope to improve our coding and charging process in ways that better support our ED revenue management process.”
By employing LYNX coding services, Alegent Health expects to see more accurate, dependable facility code assignment, along with standardization for coding, charging and billing throughout the five hospitals that LYNX will serve.
