Coding Process
LYNX provides coding services remotely at one of its three regional offices. Delivery of coding services is most efficient if hospitals use a scanning and indexing system such as LYNX’s E/Map Software to image and organize documentation.
Documentation accessed. LYNX accesses patient information and completed documentation remotely via a data connection with the client site.
Codes assigned. An experienced LYNX coding specialist assigns codes using LYNX’s E/Code software.
Feedback provided. Coders use E/Code to provide comments on the overall encounter documentation for physicians and provide a report on procedures not documented adequately for code assignment.
Data made accessible. Completed documentation and coding information can be viewed online at the client site, viewed remotely by LYNX or printed for easy distribution. The client has access to E/Code’s wide range of practice management reports to generate a charge log, evaluate practice management and administrative data, and report codes to the billing system.
