C/Point

Facility Charging for Hospital-Based Clinics

Hospital-based Urgent Care, Primary Care and Internal Medicine clinics share many issues with Emergency Departments. Usually a subjective and manual process tasked to different clinic staff, the methodologies used for calculating visit levels are often created internally, with no validation, monitoring for accuracy or association with resource use. With a standardized, compliant facility charge assignment process in place to ensure objective assignment of charges, hospital-based clinics can represent a significant source of predictable revenue for the health system.

Product Overview

Based upon the principle of LYNX's E/Point Emergency Department charging application, C/Point utilizes a presenting problem-driven, resource-based methodology which captures services and resources used in hospital-based clinics. A minimum value or base weight is linked to the presenting problem. Additional services provided by the clinic staff add "points". The level of service is determined by the sum of base weight points plus points for clinic staff and resources used.
